The S&D Story
Our fearless leader, George Papadopoulos, started the Sons & Daughters with one goal in mind: to promote greek culture and history, thereby solidifying Greek dance as a tradition in Boston. That’s why in 1972, over 50 years ago, he started the Sons & Daughters of Alexander the great — to pay homage to one of the greatest leaders of Greece, Alexander the Great!
In the over 50 years of the group’s inception, they’ve traveled across the US, traveled across the Atlantic Ocean, celebrated over 40 weddings due to the group, celebrated countless baptisms of dance members becoming koumparoi, and have made a “little” (it’s actually huge) family together.
